I love this smoothie. It’s one of the simplest smoothies I have ever come up with, and I must say, this was the first time I ever thought to add ‘creaminess’ to… a green smoothie. It never occurred to me that it is OK to make a GREEN smoothie… ‘creamy’.
I hope you’ll give it a go. I tell ya, I am converted. The almond milk in this is what gives that rich texture and adds heart healthy oils to the ‘mix’. I’ve shared how you can make your own Almond Milk in my Brilliant Basics Recipe Section.
I have even started adding coconut creams and liquid, virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil to more of my green smoothies (and all other smoothies for that matter), not only to give a beautiful rich texture to my smoothies, but to also introduce more of those healthy fats and oils we so desperately need more of in our daily diets.
These creamy, healthy fats and oils also help us to feel fuller for longer, therefore helping to make smoothies, a very satisfying, in-between meals ‘snack’.
